About Us
Vision and Values
Mission Statement
To improve the overall well-being of dogs and cats through their oral healthcare by bringing our specialized veterinary dentistry services to the doorstep of partnering clinics.
Core Values
We value, above all else, our relationships with the clinics, pet owners and pets we serve and feel our Professionalism, Accessibility, Communication, and Compassion are the foundation to developing and maintaining these relationships.
How We Operate
West Slope Veterinary Dentistry & Oral Surgery is based in the grand valley and operates as a mobile veterinary practice throughout the western slope of Colorado & beyond. We provide consultations, and specialized dental care by a board-certified veterinary dentist. Our goal is to complement the dentistry services already provided through the many skilled veterinary practices on the western slope.
We work alongside trusted veterinary professionals by cultivating a partnership around collaborative identification of complex oral pathologies, and subsequently providing advanced oral surgeries to ensure our patients are receiving best practice treatment options and the highest quality oral health care.
WSVDOS is mechanically, entirely self-sufficient, bringing our own equipment into the clinic on procedure days. Our partnering clinics provide medical histories, pertinent case information, their clinic space, and the management of anesthesia for procedures.
Please see our ‘How to refer’ menu for specific information on our referral process.
Meet The Team
Davin Ringen, MS, DVM, DAVDC
Dr. Ringen graduated from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. He spent the first 4 years of his career working in equine and food animal medicine. In 2011, shortly after moving to Colorado, he shifted the course of his veterinary career and began working at a small animal veterinary practice. Improving the quality of life for his patients and enriching the bond between pet owners and their pets was the number one focus for Dr. Ringen. Almost instantly, Dr. Ringen recognized the consistent improvements made in patients’ lives through good oral care (and to the contrary, the negative impact that poor oral care had on the quality of his patients’ lives).
Knowing how common dental issues are for our dogs and cats, he felt his biggest contribution could be made in veterinary dentistry. Dr. Ringen was accepted into a rigorous 3-year veterinary dentistry residency program, mentored by a board-certified veterinary dentist™. In 2021, Dr. Ringen and his wife, Sadie, moved to Grand Junction and opened West Slope Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery and in 2024 he completed all the requirements and exams by the American Veterinary Dental College®️ to become 1 of the approximate 255 active Board-Certified Veterinary Dentists™ in the world.
In addition to his passion for veterinary medicine and dentistry, Dr. Ringen is a lifelong enthusiast of the outdoors and especially enjoys spending time fly fishing, mountain biking, and snowboarding with his wife and business partner, Sadie, as they expose their young family to everything the western slope has to offer!
Sadie Keller, MBA, LPC – Practice Manager
Sadie was born in Pennsylvania and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of West Virgina. She moved to Colorado full time in 2005 and has been lucky enough to live and work in some of the most beautiful places in the state. Sadie’s path has been rooted in the outdoors in combination with counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor stemming from an MA in Counseling Psychology/Wilderness Therapy. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, she spent the better part of her counseling career working with several police departments helping to develop and work with co-responder programs between mental health professionals and law enforcement.
In addition to her day-to-day 9-5, Sadie has always had an entrepreneurial spirit focused on business initiatives that would fill gaps where services seemed to be missing. In 2019, she made the decision to follow this motivation and enrolled in an MBA program, providing her with an added knowledge base and structure to go after ideas and goals she’s been inspired by. Married to a Veterinarian, Dr. Davin, a somewhat obvious business idea emerged bringing their mutual passions and individual strengths together to form a family business, a missing service offering and an overall fun endeavor, West Slope Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery.
Sadie prefers spending her free time outside mountain biking, skiing, golfing, hiking or fishing with friends and family and just generally soaking up the sun as much as possible. She’s least likely to be found sitting still, rather, adventuring and traveling with husband, Dr Davin, their young family, and favorite pet, Stella at every opportunity.
